In the previous section, we've seen how important it is for the process to be intrinsically rewarding. If reading isn't fun, you won't do it for the long term, and if you don't do it for the long term, none of this obsession over effectiveness for efficiency matters.
So, step one is to establish the process.

We want to build a intrinsically rewarding, self-perpetuating reading habit. Our first goal is to establish the reading habit, then we can attack it in a "modular" form, adding or removing tools, microhabits, etc. to improve the process and make it better.
